Travel Stories from a Wild and Colorful Life

Travel changes you.
It simultaneously hardens and softens you, prodding, molding, burning things into you. When surroundings change, so does anything that once seemed familiar.
Home is no longer what you thought it was. Your dreams don't take the same shape they used to. In travel, you must admit to yourself that all you thought you knew about the world is forever connected to all you know about yourself.
When one slips, so goes the other.
When you travel for the first time the world you made up flies off in the wind and you're newly naked in front of one big, scary fact: you don't know anything you thought you did.
And I find that refreshing, not only for the opportunity to fill yourself up with new things, but for knowing for sure that no one else knows anything, either.
